Introduction to Sustainability
|

In this workshop participants will be introduced to
practical sustainability through an exploration of the background to
Sustainable Development thinking. They will also consider sustainability in
their own lives and undertake personal eco foot printing activities. To
conclude the session we will consider the policies and regulations
surrounding sustainable development. The workshop is participant centered and
action packed using a range of experiential environmental education
techniques.

Achieving Sustainable Goals
|
|
This workshop asks the individual to imagine a more
sustainable. What would be the benefits for you, community and planet? What
needs to be done to achieve the goals of a more sustainable future? What can
you do and how can we set personal goals that help us make a better future
for us through to planet. The workshop uses a mixture of life coaching and
environmental education techniques. It is relevant to anybody wanting to
build confidence in goal setting and become more successful in achieving
those goals.

Global Dimension to Sustainability |
|
This workshop fully utilizes the systems thinking
mantra to explore and investigate how personal action interrelates to the
world as a whole. It case studies industries such as fashion and metal mining
to exemplify the global dimension to sustainability. This would be a really
interesting workshop for participants interested in the social and
environmental aspects of sustainability in the bigger picture.

Getting Going with Greener and Renewable Energy
|
|
Through this workshop participants will become
familiar with the ways of increasing energy efficiency and options for renewable
energy. Participants will explore the pros and cons of the range of energy
options. They will learn how to prepare and carryout an energy audit for
either a home or a small business. The workshop will also look at ways of
accessing green energy in Cornwall and employability within the renewables
sector. The workshop is participant centered and action packed using a range
of experiential environmental education techniques.

Climate Change and Peak Oil
|

Because Climate Change is such a key topic of the
here and now many training courses on sustainability boil down to a
discussion on Climate Change; However, sustainability is important regardless
of Climate Change, and so, GWYR Cornwall is offering this targeted workshop
to look directly at climate change and sustainability around peak oil. This
is a forward thinking workshop looking at probably consequences of climate
change and how we can might be pro-active in adapting. It also considers
sustainability beyond peak oil. It offers a fun and positive exploration for
anyone wishing to become more informed on these issues and how to develop
solutions.

Sustainable Procurement and working with the Green
Economy
|

If you have the intentions to do things greener but
don’t know where to turn to source materials or products this workshop is
ideal. If you have an idea about a green business this workshop will
introduce you to the sector. It will look at values and costs in an economic
approach to issues in sustainability.
